St. Patrick’s Day Riddle- THE FINAL CLUES!

7th grade: I’m here in the corner, just look and you’ll find I’m right next to Shakespeare and books of that kind.

8th/9th grade: If there’s one thing they’ve taught you it’s to protect your head, but to find the prize you must leave one dead. Good luck everyone!

ATTENTION: If you are the first to find the prize, please keep it in your backpack and pickup the rest of your prize in the office after school.

 

Math Tutoring

Math tutoring is available today 3:30-4:30 with Mr. Guy in B-4.

 

7th/8th Grade Boys Soccer

Our super talented and hard working Emerson 7/8 boys’ soccer squad hosts Holmes today at 4pm out on the soccer field. Come on out and cheer your Eagles on.

 

Great news from environmental news!

The white lunch trays can now be recycled with the brown paper trays! Please stack your white and brown lunch trays and drop them into the black, rectangular bins around campus!

 

Students and teachers:

Environmental news is spreading the word that dead batteries can pollute the environment if they are thrown in the garbage. Please bring your dead batteries from your class or from home to the office so they can be properly recycled! Thanks!

Calling all 9th Graders!

We will be moving on next year to the high school, so shouldn’t we leave our legacy behind? In order to raise the money, we need all the 9th graders to sell See’s candy. Extra order forms are available in the office and are due Thursday, March 22nd. Any questions please see Ms. Amsler in A-7. Thanks for all your hard work so far.

 

Calling all athletes!

Not just any but athletes that play outside sports! We mean any non-school related sports. Whether it’s dancing or archery we want your sport pictures. We need them tomorrow, March 16th so please hurry!!

 

Leadership Classes now Accepting Applications

Hey 7th and 8th graders, are you interested in being a Peer Helper, creating the yearbook or planning for dances? If so, then now is the time to pick up your applications for the next school year. They are located in the front office. Peer Helping, Yearbook and Student Activities performs tasks for you, the student body that help to make the school year fun. If you are energetic, creative, responsible and committed to getting tasks done, then considering applying. See Mrs. Amsler, Mrs. Wolfe or Ms. Terra for information about the classes. Applications can be turned into these teachers or the front office up until Thursday, March 22nd.

 

Do you love to run, jump or throw? 

Do you like or individual or team sports? Do you want to be part of a great team? Join the Emerson/DaVinci 7th / 8th grade Track and Field team and SOAR!!  Signups are in the office. Practice starts April 2nd.  Practices will be held Monday – Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm. For questions please contact Mrs. Perez in the library!

 

Want to buy a St. Patrick’s Day gram?

Starting March 12th-16th during lunch for only 25 cents, you can buy a shamrock bracelet for you or a friend. For only 25 cents more, you can send a St. Patrick’s Day message to anyone of your choice!

 

The Carnival is coming back to Davis!

Tickets available now! The Emerson Jr. High PTA is excited to announce that the Carnival will be in town April 19th - 22nd at Cannery Park (J & Covell). All funds raised will support the Emerson/DaVinci Library Technology Upgrade! Ticket sales are underway. For $20, you can purchase a daily pass for unlimited rides such as the Zipper, Century Wheel, Cliff Hanger, and more. You can purchase at downtown retailers (Armadillo Music ($2.50 service charge), Fleet Feet, Nestware and the Davis Food Co-op). Come for the fun and support our school!
